Networking event

15 ladies, almost 20 home-based businesses, four hours and a LOT of fun. Today was all about meeting each other, making contacts, discovering new companies and, yes, shopping. Now, however, I'm encouraging the ladies to consider meeting once a month for a similar event, only it will be more for learning how to grow our businesses. We all have different strengths and weaknesses and can learn so much from each other about what works and what doesn't. It's all about the right tools and tips. I'm hoping 12 ladies will commit to a monthly meeting and hosting once/year. Each month will have a different topic to cover and then we will each get a challenge and be assigned a "buddy" to be accountable to for doing the challenge in the month ahead. I hope they're up for it because it could be majorly beneficial to all involved.
Anyway, I met a lot of lovely ladies and saw some old friends, too. It was a blast, but...I'm also glad that my hosting for November is done!! I'm so tired. But it was SO worth it! Seemed like everyone enjoyed it, too.
We'll see where it goes!! Maybe I'll start a new blog just for the home-based business aspect of my life...

It's 3:30a.m., do you know where your direct sales rep is??

Phew. Went to the boutique today--didn't sell a thing. Having Andrew with me was definitely a hindrance. Met some lovely ladies, gave out candy with my info. attached and bought a few fun things, but...didn't MAKE any money. It's all good. Now I've been working to get ready for tomorrow and even at 3:30, I'm still not done. Table's not set, Andrew's toys aren't all put away, kitchen needs a wipe-down...yeesh. Good thing it's a brunch and I'll be done by 1:00.
So goofy...I left an entire pile of jewelry at the showroom tonight that I meant to buy. I'd been adding up my total on a back counter when they called my number and even though the total at check-out seemed low, it didn't click that I was missing a bunch of stuff. Grrrr. I may have to go back tomorrow after my event to get it cuz some of it was for church friends. I hate it when I do stuff like that. Side effect of too much on the ol' brain.
So...tomorrow will be interesting. I intended it to be a "come meet some fellow direct sales sisters" but now it's more of a "Let's start a networking group where we can learn and grow together." Folks don't know what they get themselves into when they meet me!!! I hope they're receptive to my wacky ideas!!
Gosh, I'm tired, so I'm gonna do as much as I can and hit the hay. Andrew lasted a long time with me so at least he'll be able to sleep in. Thank goodness I still do a lot of the Fly Lady routines or this would be a million times worse. I'll take pictures tomorrow to post!
