They arrived Thursday so we all had dinner together then hung out at their hotel. Here's Carver--age 11, and Jane--age 10. Aren't they good lookin' kids??
We had fun hanging out--here's Drew's mom and Sarah, too.
Friday night, Carver had a gymnastics meet (that's why they were here), which Andrew would NOT sit through (he is two, after all)--so he and I hung out all over ASU's campus to kill time (over three hours of time--ouch), then he wreaked havoc at the local IHOP afterward. He did have a lot of fun playing soccer on their big field, though, and surprised us with his accuracy. Not only did he almost never miss but when he did kick it, it went flying a long way! He even got the hang of running up to it and kicking it. That'll be a good way to tire him out now. We may have a little soccer player in the making.
The kids came home with us Friday night so Carver and Drew could "play." Saturday, we slept in, had breakfast and did a lot of hanging out, plus Drew's mom, Sarah and I got to go off for a while just the three of us--quite a treat. Then Drew's aunt, who's now our neighbor, got to come by with her granddaughter (our...second cousin???) and we all had pizza together and even had a music jam session.
Sunday was another loooong day for us. Church from 8:00 to noon, then a little break, then more church from 3-5 and our home group from 6-8. Yeesh.
Andrew also got a little trim on Sunday--he looks much less shaggy.
It's one of those weekends that leave you needing another weekend--but it was good!! :)
